The Fall 2017 Immerse-A-Thon is a wrap! It was a great competition and there was a lot of solid effort from every team. This year's theme, The Great Outdoors, really brought out some fun and creative entries. Codeworks Boise fielded two teams. Their Community category submission brought multiplayer Bigfoot hunting to VR and their Student submission featured an exploratory flying experience that was a lot of fun. VYNYL fielded an expert Community team and stretched for a unique multi-platform MR experience that we're sure we'll see more of.
Our congratulations go out to Community category winner Gordon Roberts and the Student category winner from BSU's GIMM program! Gordon's VR Skeet Shooting entry won him a ticket to the 2018 Game Developer's Conference and IVRC Accelerator access. The GIMM team's exploratory elements Terra Incognita experience earned them some passes to Treefort , VR1 Arcade Credits and at GTX 1060 graphics card. Both Category finalists will find out the Grand Prize winner at the VR Bash this coming Thursday, October 5th. It's gonna be exciting to see who takes home a brand new HTC Vive and a $500 check!
