Pocatello has joined the ranks of Eagle, Meridian and Coeur d’Alene with its own VR arcade! One Up VR, located at 928 N Main St, Suite 3, Pocatello opened on July 7th. Twin Falls, are you next?

One Up VR is co-owned by husband/wife duo Taft and Grace Johnson. They got into VR through playing with the PS4 VR headset at home and were immediately hooked. They purchased the Oculus Rift shortly after that and felt that the VR industry was something they wanted to be part of. The applications beyond gaming are intriguing to them, and opening up a VR arcade seemed like a great way to get into the industry.

Opening the location happened rather quickly for them. Once they had a viable business plan in place they quickly found a commercial space that fit their needs and went through the process of transforming the layout into what they needed. From there to opening was only one month! You read that right, they they got the space ready, built the PC’s and got everything up and running in that short window (wow!)

Taft has a background in technology as a network engineer and built all their custom gaming computers to run the arcade software. They have three VR bays up and running with all using Oculus Rifts. They liked some of the upcoming things that Rift has slotted and felt that would be a good fit for them as they’d like to get into some of the commercial applications in the future. A fourth VR bay is in the works that will be a fully immersive virtual reality driving bay! They have over 100 game titles for users to choose from and a lounge area for people to hang out it and watch the action.

They’ll be doing a grand opening in early August before school starts so if you’re in eastern Idaho make sure you stay tuned to hear more!

Congratulations One Up VR and welcome to the Idaho VR community!
