Fantastic VR4Ed Presentation with John Anderson!

By August 8, 2019Education, Events

The IVRC was please to host a great VR & Education event featuring John Anderson, the Program Head for U of I's Virtual Technology & Design program. John, a great design thinker and Neo-Futurist, shared how virtual reality revolutionizes education and increases our capacity for learning in unimagined ways.

John Anderson's focus on visualizing complex environments provides him with a unique viewpoint on how our society is structured and where it will be going in the future.  Consequently, his presentation delves into the core of modern society's perception of the world and how that perception will evolve with ever-progressing visualization technologies.

The event had a great turnout and everyone had a chance to network with each other prior to John's presentation. The event mixer featured demos from Peeka.me, Paul Zimmerman (Technology Innovation for Blaine County School District) and our own Nick Burum giving demos on the new Oculus Quest. On that note, we'd like to congratulate Mike Taylor for going home with a brand new Quest!

The IVRC would like to give special thanks to the STEM Action Center, our awesome sponsor for the event!
